For Philadelphia Lone Star Football Club, Spring has sprung!!! The 2019 Spring/Summer season has begun in earnest as four of the club seven teams will be action this week:
THURSDAY
The Under-23s, headed by coach Bobby Ali Walters, will travel to Lancaster, PA to battle the AFC Lancaster Lions in their first pre-season match of this season as they prepare for the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). Kick-off is at 7:00 PM EST.
SATURDAY
A busy day of action begins with our team in Liberia, JLSFC-Liberia, hosting newly promoted third division side Habiba Football Club, at the ATS in the season opener. Kick-off is at 12:00 noon GMT (8:00 AM EST).
That is followed later by coach Fatoma Turay’s side who will be travelling to Wilmington, DE to face Goldey-Beacom College Men’s Soccer in a pre-season friendly as they prepare for the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Northeast Elite Soccer League (NESL), and the USASA Region I Amateur and Open Cups. Kick-off is at 1:00 PM EST.
Right after that, our newly-formed Legends team headed by coach Thomas George, will battle fierce rivals Trenton FC in the Casa Soccer League Segunda Division season opener at the South Philadelphia Super Site. Kick-off is at 4:20 PM EST.
SUNDAY
The Under-23s will be in action again, this time making the one-hour road trip to Trenton, NJ to face Trenton Rebels in another friendly. Kick-off for that match is at 8:00 PM EST.
