Stars in College: Tall, Watson, Willie Shine in Weekly Recap

Several Stars were in action last week for their respective colleges.

Valley Forge Military College sophomore midfielder Francis Watson was on target again in his team’s 2-2 draw at Delaware County Community College. Freshman midfielder Mohamed Tall was also on target for Valley Forge.

Sophomore midfielder Daniel Willie scored the fifth of Penn State Brandywine’s 5-1 win over Gwynedd-Mercy while freshman midfielder Thierno Diallo had a goal and an assist in Manor College’s 4-1 win over Raritan Valley.

Here’s the recap of the week’s action:
(Monday, September 3 – Sunday, September 9)

Vinny Tasca (Sr., GK) started the two matches for Wilmington University during the week. He had his first clean sheet of the season in the goalless draw at West Chester University on Wednesday, but conceded a goal in the 1-1 draw at Caldwell University on Saturday. Edward Slueue (So, FW) also played in both Wilmington University’s matches during the week. Those were his first two appearances of the season.

Deekai Gbonimy (So., FW) played in both matches for Wesley College in the wins vs. Wilson University (W 1-0) on Tuesday and vs. McDaniel College (W 3-2) on Saturday.

Gerardo Sosa (Sr., GK) missed Penn State Berk’s 2-1 win at Alvernia University on Friday, but came on as a 67th minute substitute in the 1-4 loss vs. Lancaster Bible College on Saturday. Sosa was introduced after his team was already down 0-3. He conceded his team’s fourth goal via the penalty spot.

Francis Watson (So., MF) is now on seven goals for Valley Forge Military College after scoring ONE GOAL in the 2-2 draw at Delaware County Community College on Tuesday. Mohamed Tall (Fr., MF) also scored ONE GOAL during that match. Other Stars who featured for Valley Forge were Solomon Freeman (Fr., GK) and Aaron Keita (Fr., DF).

Daniel Willie (So., MF) started and scored ONE GOAL in Penn State Bradywine’s 5-2 win at Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday. He also featured in his team’s 2-0 win vs. Immaculata University on Thursday.

Theirno Diallo (Fr., MF/FW) scored ONE GOAL and had ONE ASSIST in Manor College’s 4-1 win vs. Raritan Valley on Tuesday. Kelvin Siem (Fr., MF) also featured in that game for Manor College. They both were also on the losing end in Manor College’s 0-5 loss vs. Harcum College on Thursday.
