Stars in College: Diarra, Camara, Hartmann, Ajago Shine

Several Stars from our men’s First Team were in action for their respective colleges last week.

Southwestern University sophomore forward Mamdou Diarra was the STAR in the Builders’ 10-1 demolition of Bacone after scoring a hat-trick. He followed that with another goal in their 1-0 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday.

University of Louisville freshman forward Aboubacar Camara scored the winner in the 88th minute as the Cardinals came from one goal down to defeat Evansville 2-1 last Monday while Saint Joseph’s University junior defender Alex Hartmann scored the winner in the Hawks’ 2-1 overtime win against UNC Greensboro yesterday and University of Dayton junior forward Forster Ajago was on target again for the Flyers in their 3-2 overtime win against Incarnate Word on Saturday.

TEMPLE UNIVERSITY
Eoin Gawronski (R-Fr., GK) earned another clean-sheet for the Owls, this time against Rutgers University in their 0-0 2OT draw. He made three saves including a penalty kick. He also started in the Owls 3-1 win at home against Manhattan on Saturday.

Cesar Ripa (So., D) and Goodwill Agbaadem (Jr., GK) missed the match.

SAINT JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY
Alvin Dahn (Grad., M), Michael Mullins (Jr., D), and Alex Hartmann (Jr., D) were all involved in the Hawks’ 1-4 loss at Campbell University on Friday while Hartmann was the hero for the Owls in their 2-1 overtime win at home against UNC Greensboro after his late header sealed the win.

PENN STATE UNIVERSITY
Danny Bloyou (Sr., F) started in the Nittany Lions’ 1-3 loss at West Virginia University on Friday.

RUTGERS UNIVERSITY
Moussa Sabaly (So., F) did not play in the Scarlet Knights’ two matches last week.

UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
Alvin Halley (Jr., D) played in the Blue Hens’ 2-4 loss at Seton Hall University last Monday.

LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND
Marco Bla (So., M) started in the Greyhounds’ 0-1 loss at Old Dominion University on Friday.

UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON
Forster Ajago (Jr., F) scored from the penalty spot as the Flyers defeated Incarnate Word 3-2 after extra time on Saturday.

UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE
Aboubacar Camara (Fr., F) scored a late winner in the Cardinals’ 2-1 win at home against Evansville last Monday. He was also involved in their 1-0 overtime win at home against Bellarmine on Friday.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPSTATE
Hayden Anderson (Jr., D) played in the Spartans’ 1-2 loss at home against Georgia State University on Saturday.

UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA
Maxime Correia (Sr., F) started in both the Tigers’ 2-0 win and 2-3 loss against Eckerd College (on Friday) and Lincoln Mem. University (on Sunday), respectively.

SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE
Mamadou Diarra (So., F) scored a hat-trick for the Builders in their 10-1 win at home against Bacone on Wednesday. He also scored the only goal in their 1-0 win at Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday.

Derrick Hayes (Jr., D) and Mohamed Tall (So., D)  were also on the scoresheet for the Builders in that 10-1 win.

WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY
Aaron Keita (Sr., D) started in the Statesmen’s 2-3 loss at home against Bellevue on Wednesday, came off the bench and scored in their 6-1 win at Dordt  on Saturday and started in their 3-2 win at Northwestern yesterday.

LYNN UNIVERSITY
Elliott Alain (Fr., F) did not feature in both the Fighting Knights’ two matches on Friday and yesterday.
