Stars Drawn Against Danubia & Colonial / VE Reserves in State Cups

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pennsylvania – The Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association (EPSA) have released the draw for the 2018/19 State Open Cup and State Amateur Cup.

Philadelphia Lone Star FC will travel to Danubia SC in the First Round of the EPSA Open Cup on Sunday, October 14th while the Stars were given a bye directly to the Quarter-Final stage of the EPSA Amateur Cup where they will host either Colonial Ultra or VE Reserves on Sunday, November 4th.

The Stars were crowned dual State Cup Champions during the 2016/17 season and they represented the State at the 2017 USASA Region I Tournament where they finished as Regional Quarter-finalists in the Open Cup and Regional Finalists in the Amateur Cup.

Meanwhile, First Team players reported for pre-season training last week and they will continue training this week as the Technical Staff looks to submit the Open Cup roster to the State by the Thursday deadline.

Here’s the full fixture list for both the 2018/19 EPSA Open Cup and Amateur Cup. VE Majors are the defending State Open Cup champions while West Chester Majors are the defending State Amateur Cup champions.

Both the 2018/19 State Open Cup and Amateur Cup champions will represent the EPSA at the USASA Region I Tournament next Spring.

The 2019 USASA Region I winners of both cups will then advance to the 2019 USASA Nationals where they will battle the other three Regional winners from Region II, III, and IV.

The 2019 USASA National Amateur Cup champions will receive a cash prize of USD $15,000 and an automatic slot in the 2020 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup first round.
