Junior Lone Star FC Launches Team in Liberia

Junior Lone Star Football Club, one of the United States most established and most successful African soccer clubs, is pleased to announce that the club has officially launched a soccer team in Liberia.

Over the weekend, several players from across Monrovia held a meeting where the structuring of the new team was decided.

Selection of players has already been ongoing with the first team being based in Monrovia, Liberia.

In its first year, the new JLSFC-Liberia will have teams from the U-15 to U-20 divisions in Monrovia before expanding to other counties within Liberia.

Meanwhile, JLSFC-Liberia will also partner with other youth clubs around the country as they aim to reach 350-400 players in the first four years, across all age groups up to the high school level in all 15 counties.

Junior Lone Star FC president, Paul Konneh said: “Our goal is not only to expand our brand but to also identify players with potential talent who will one day compete for colleges and/or pro teams in the United States or other parts of the world.”

This year, JLSFC-Liberia, a brainchild of Junior Lone Star FC founder Bobby Ali, will compete in the lower division of the Liberia National Football League system before competing in the Pro Division by 2020.

The team will be coached by Solomon Trokon Freeman Jr. while Abel G. Thomas will serve as the Director of Operations and Willie Jones will be the team’s first captain.

Those interested in playing for JLSFC-Liberia should contact either of those three persons.
